2 Play Tests Weekend

Play Test 1: Saturday

So on Saturday I was able to play Panic with a buddy, we'll call him Ron (its his name), and his son Sean.  Sean wanted to watch us play so it was my first 2 player game with the new design.  It went awesome.  Ron won with 78 minutes or Screen time to my 68, he won with 2 excellent moves, 1 I had sabotaged a scene to a 50+ target.  Sean rolled for Ron and got a 37 on 1 die.  Then He rerolled 2 dice using his special skill, and got 17 more Plus the 6 he had just what he needed to get 15 minutes for the scene and killing a virus.  The second thing Ron did was ending the game early using the Self Destruct special effect.  I sabotaged the scene to only a 30, he rolled well and made it, then rolled to try and end the game this turn, rolled a 9 (2d10) and re-rolled again, getting a 14 and ending the game after my last scene.  I failed that roll (it was ugly highest die was 6 after the re-roll of 4 dice).

So Ron came out ahead and was the star of the show.

Enter the New Panic

Yep its here, Panic Pre BETA! More interaction with the board, no tactical movement, more lines, more special effects, more chances to sabotage other players and when your character is out you can still play for more screen time.

So the changes start with the board, adding scene locations so players move from location to location and choose when they do a scene.  the number sets how many cards both sides can play.  Pods can also now count as a Prop Type, allowing you to heal, activate Immunities, or Special Effect (SFX) cards.

The Scene cards are the other major change.  These cards set the target for the dice roll (still d10) for the acting player.

The ID cards now have skills listed making each character more dynamic and play differently.  The skills give you dice and cards to use to better your acting or sabotage your cast mates.

Adding a new script card type increased the , On The Set cards either boost the acting roll or hinder it, adding the value to the acting roll or the scene target

So these are a few of the cards that have changed or been added, Panic plays fast and funny.  Players can enjoy adding viruses to other players scenes or simply trying to kill a character because they were a bad boss or a romance went bad, whil doing it through a megaphone.

Next update we will talk about the Line cards, SFX cards, Virus cards and How the Character skills work..
